"The parallelism between ancient cultures and contemporary ethnicities in my work comes from my research in archaeology. I work with pigments and semi-precious minerals, exploring the relationship between geology and ethnicity, anthropomorphism and transformation, as well as the balance between our mythological heritage and identity."
About the sculpture: "I hear/ listen to what the stone sings"
"From earliest times, memory has been located in the ear. Ancient Pythagoreans believed that the ringing of the ears was a sign of divine inspiration that heroes were born from the mother's ears. The similarity between the pavilion of the ear and the spiral of the snail fosters a symbolic combination of ear-snail-birth. The gemstone carnelian with gold is a sculpture of an ear that understands the silence of the stone, the bird's song and the forest full off murmurs. Like a child's ear, hearing things that adults never stop to feel."
